Nostradamus

The notorious charlatan Nostradamus was born on 14 December 1503. His 'predictions' are deliberately obscure, with a bit of imagination you can always find some event in history in the last 500 years, somewhere that sounds like it might be a fulfillment of one of his predictions.

I first heard of Nostradamus in the 1970s. Since then every few years a new book about his 'predictions' is published. And every few years the interpretations of his 'predictions' change to try and make them fit actual events in the modern world. British prime minister Horace Walpole said 'the wisest prophets make sure of the event first'. That’s one way to do it Mr. Walpole or you could just make a prediction so vague or so obscure that something a bit like it is bound to happen sometime.
