Christopher Marlowe

The great Elizabethan playwright Christopher Marlowe was baptised on 26 February 1564. We don't know the exact date of his birth because in those days they recorded the date of the baptism not the birth. https://localhistories.galexia.agency/a-brief-biography-of-christopher-marlowe/

Samuel Plimsoll

Samuel Plimsoll was born on 10 February 1824. Shipowners sometimes overloaded ships with cargo, which was dangerous and often led to sinkings. Plimsoll campaigned for ships to have a line painted on their side to show if they were overloaded and floating dangerously low in the water. His work saved many lives. Well Done Samuel. localhistories.org/a-history-of-transport

Queen Victoria

On 10 February 1840 Queen Victoria married her cousin Albert. Victoria chose to wear a white wedding dress. Because the queen wore a white wedding dress it became the fashion for brides to wear white. (In the past white clothes were a status symbol because they were difficult to clean. If you wore white it meant you must have lots of servants to clean them). https://www.mentalfloss.com/article/570824/queen-victoria-popularized-white-wedding-dresses
